Somatic Self-Care
Somatic Self-Care teaches the fine art of listening, feeling and being present
"Your body holds the keys"
The word soma means the body observed internally. Somatic practice has many forms that all emphasise the connection with the body. Also yoga is originated from somatic practice. Its roots are in India and go back thousands of years. Every type of yoga shares a common goal of learning the skill of conscious presence, achieving comprehensive balance and deep connection through physical practice.
In yoga we do learned asanas, in Somatic Self-Care you do what your body guides you. That's how asanas, mudras and pranayama were also found in the past. It's all in you. Your body holds an enormous potential for you to discover.
Somatic Self-Care is meditative
Meditation is observing. Unlike many would think, meditation is not just sitting and trying to empty your mind. Meditation is a choice, where instead of thinking I choose to watch, listen and feel.
Only by watching you can see, by listening you can hear and by feeling you can know.
In Somatic Self-Care I meditate by tuning into my body. Your body is constantly working with you. Can you work with it, or are you too busy to care? Working with your body and learning to observe its subtle messages sensitises you to receive more than you could ever imagine with your ego. Through connection with our body we experience the connection with life and others in a way that can only be understood through own experience.
Meditative state reminds you of your true essence behind the chaos of your thoughts. Experiencing this connection clears and calms your mind, expands the awareness, improves concentration and helps you detach from stress. It can help you to become aware and release the patterns of thoughts that no longer serve you and replace them with the ones that support your happiness and well-being. Incorporating meditative practice into everyday life helps you to live in the moment and to rise above your thoughts. That's when the situations and interactions stop shaking you. You'll become aware of the true nature of life, others and your experiences and set yourself free from overthinking and overanalysing. Suddenly your consciousness is free to concentrate on what ever it is you really want. Distracting the attention lames its power and conversely concentrating it works miracles. Numerous successful people all over the world know this and use meditation in their lives.
By being present and in your body you will release your creativity and intuition. You'll begin to know what, how and when you should do and life becomes quite magical. Living connected gives you strength and courage to express your amazing self and walk your own unique path and to share your unique gifts with others. Living connected will set you free and create Heaven on Earth.
